Football Recap: Sargent Takes a Loss

Sargent had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-1 to make it six. They were beaten by the Hayden Tigers 58-8. Having soared to a lofty 60 points in the game before, the Farmers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Hayden, the win got them back to even at 1-1. They haven't had any issues with Sargent recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Peyton Johnson had a dynamite game, rushing for 119 yards and three scores on only seven carries, while also throwing for 84 yards and a pair of TDs on only six passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Carson Campbell, who picked up 81 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Coming up, Sargent will challenge Hoehne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hayden, they will take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
