Softball Preview: Midview Middies vs. St. Joseph Academy Jaguars
The Midview Middies will be playing at home against the St. Joseph Academy Jaguars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Midview will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Last Thursday, Midview made easy work of Olmsted Falls and carried off a 17-5 win.
Savannah Holcomb was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Holcomb has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Holcomb was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Saturday's matchup will be a test for both team's pitchers. Midview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like St. Joseph Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
