Valley Forge extends home losing streak to nine

Recap: Valley Forge Patriots vs. Normandy Invaders

After soaring to 57 points the game before, the Valley Forge Patriots were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Normandy, falling 48-21. Valley Forge has not had much luck with Normandy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Valley Forge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cloe Rzeczycki, who scored a points along with five steals and five blocks. Those five blocks set a new season-high mark for her.

Normandy found their leader in underclassman Ziley Minich, who scored 15 points along with seven steals and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. Sammi Perdue was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Valley Forge's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Normandy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Forge will take on Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Normandy is on the road again on Saturday and play against Holy Name at 12:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Holy Name focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
