Basketball Recap: Moline Takes a Loss

Moline has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Moline United Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Maroons came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Panthers are ranked 96th).

Moline's loss dropped their record down to 24-7. As for East Moline United, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

While Moline had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on February 26th.
