Soccer Game Preview: Waterloo vs. Triad

Waterloo hasn't had much luck against Triad recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Waterloo beats Triad with eight goals on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went the Bulldogs' way against Carterville on Friday as they made off with an 8-1 win. Aubrey Heck was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Triad extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Marion. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 6-0 shutout. Triad's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Triad is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those nine contests. As for Waterloo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6-2.
