Preview: Episcopal Academy Churchmen vs. Shipley

Episcopal Academy and Shipley are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Episcopal Academy Churchmen are on the road again on Tuesday and play against Shipley at 5:15 p.m. on December 19th. One thing working in Episcopal Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Thursday, Episcopal Academy strolled past La Salle College with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. The victory was all the more spectacular given Episcopal Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while La Salle College is ranked 135th).

Meanwhile, Shipley pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 80-56 loss at the hands of William Penn Charter.

Gyasi Miller put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 17 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Lange, who scored 13 points.

The win got Episcopal Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Shipley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Episcopal Academy and Shipley were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but Episcopal Academy came up empty-handed after a 64-63 loss. Thankfully for Episcopal Academy, Darrien Grady (who scored 26 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
