Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sumrall walked away with it. They blew past the Northeast Jones Tigers 8-2 on Saturday. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 contests by six runs or more this season.

Landon Hawkins was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Will Raner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Sumrall is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Northeast Jones, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-9-1.

Sumrall wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-0 loss against Purvis on the 12th. Northeast Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
