Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Bethany Burnette and Jasie Vellon Lead Master's Academy to Victory

Master's Academy entered their tilt with Rockledge on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Rockledge Raiders by a score of 36-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Master's Academy was led to victory by Jasie Vellon and Bethany Burnette. Vellon posted 14 points, while Burnette earned 11 points. The dominant performance gave Burnette a new career-high in points.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacie Brown, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazylle Bradley, who put up six points and six steals.

Master's Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Rockledge, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-12 record.

Master's Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 36-31 defeat against Winter Park on the 25th. As for Rockledge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-23 win against Merritt Island on the 27th.
