Soccer Game Preview: Dunkirk vs. Lewiston-Porter

The Dunkirk Marauders are taking a road trip to take on the Lewiston-Porter Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Dunkirk's victory against Olean wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Marauders skirted past the Huskies 4-3. Considering Dunkirk's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lewiston-Porter). They put the hurt on Lake Shore with a sharp 20-1 win on Saturday. It was an even better day for Paul Orsi as he scored three goals for his team.

Lewiston-Porter's victory bumped their record up to 17-0. As for Dunkirk, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 10-6-1.

Dunkirk suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Lewiston-Porter when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
