            Basketball Recap: Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets vs. Tandem Friends Badgers        
        
		
        
        
            If Randolph-Macon Academy was feeling good  fresh off their  77-19 takedown of Quantico last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets lost  72-51 to the Tandem Friends Badgers on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  defeat the Yellow Jackets have suffered  against the Badgers since February 12, 2022.
Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Noah Negussie, who  went 5-for-11  to rack up 16 points and eight  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  David Kayeye, who  went 5-for-9  on his way to 12  points.
 Even though they lost, Randolph-Macon Academy  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 13  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least ten  offensive rebounds in six consecutive  matches.
 It was another big night for  Sean Tyler, who  posted 35 points for Tandem Friends. The dominant performance gave  Tyler a new career-high in  points. Another player making a difference was  Zaquis Timberlake, who  had 17 points.
Randolph-Macon Academy's  loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 16-2. As for Tandem Friends, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record  this season.
 Randolph-Macon Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  63-60  defeat against Wakefield School on the 14th. Tandem Friends does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
