Basketball Recap: Smith-Cotton Comes Up Short

If Smith-Cotton was riding high fresh off their 70-21 takedown of Parkview last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Smith-Cotton Tigers fell just short of the Bolivar Liberators by a score of 40-38 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since December 7, 2023.

Smith-Cotton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Bolivar, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith-Cotton will head out to square off against Lee's Summit West at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bolivar, they will venture away from home to face off against Early at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
