Basketball Game Preview: Lake View Wild Gators vs. Carvers Bay Bears

Lake View hasn't had much luck against Carvers Bay recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lake View Wild Gators will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Carvers Bay Bears at 8:15 p.m.

Lake View is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season back in December of 2024. They lost 58-37 to Johnsonville.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Terrence Alford, who posted 14 points. Those 14 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Carter, who had five points along with eight steals and five boards.

Even though they lost, Lake View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Carvers Bay beat East Clarendon 52-46 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Carvers Bay's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Lake View, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Lake View came up short against Carvers Bay when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 58-47. Can Lake View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
