Softball Recap: Graham-Kapowsin Wins Going Away Against Bonney Lake

The Graham-Kapowsin Eagles made easy work of the Bonney Lake Panthers on Friday and carried off an 11-1 victory. Considering the Eagles have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brooklyn Pettit made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, MaKena Rodgers was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Makayla Young also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Graham-Kapowsin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Graham-Kapowsin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bonney Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Graham-Kapowsin will challenge South Kitsap at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
