Basketball Recap: Daleville Broncos vs. Wapahani Raiders
Daleville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 79-39 loss at the hands of the Wapahani Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 80-35 back in January.
Daleville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cooper Sexton, who posted ten points. Hunter Suchyna was another key player, putting up ten points.
Wapahani got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Luce out in front who en route to 32 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, Luce is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Bell, who on his way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
Daleville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Wapahani, they pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
Coming up, Daleville will challenge Alexandria-Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Daleville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season. As for Wapahani, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-47 win against Yorktown on the 22nd.
