Softball Recap: South Summit Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

South Summit and Emery squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but South Summit had to settle for second. They fell 8-4 to the Spartans. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

South Summit saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Broadbent, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

With the defeat, South Summit broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-12. As for Emery, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-11.

Looking ahead, South Summit will take on Juab at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Emery does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
