Football Game Preview: Robertsdale Golden Bears vs. Daphne Trojans + How To Watch

Robertsdale is 0-6 against Daphne since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Golden Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Daphne took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Robertsdale, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Robertsdale needed a bit of extra time to put away Bryant. They walked away with a 42-35 win over the Hurricanes. The Golden Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cub Jones went supernova, rushing for 101 yards and two TDs on only ten carries, while also throwing for 133 yards and three touchdowns. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in August. Micah Hardy was another key player, gaining 146 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Robertsdale was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Daphne faced Fairhope in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The matchup between the Trojans and the Pirates didn't end well, with the Trojans falling 38-21. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Robertsdale will have to contain Christian Segar as he made an impact in Daphne's last game. He threw for 266 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.8% of his passes.

Daphne's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Robertsdale, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-6.
