Basketball Recap: Montabella Comes Up Short

Montabella lost against Evart back in December of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Montabella Mustangs took a 43-28 bruising from the Evart Wildcats. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Evart's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noah Vanderlinde led the charge by going 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakobe White, who posted ten points and four steals.

Montabella's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Evart, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Montabella will face off against Sacred Heart Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sacred Heart Academy will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Montabella surely won't give up without a fight. As for Evart, they will venture away from home to challenge McBain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (McBain has won three straight at home, while Evart won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
