Basketball Game Preview: Chisholm Trail Rangers vs. Azle Hornets

The Chisholm Trail Rangers will head out to take on the Azle Hornets at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Saturday, Chisholm Trail came up short against Granbury and fell 53-43.

Meanwhile, Azle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 64-35 loss at the hands of Aledo. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 913th, while the Bearcats are ranked 170th).

Chisholm Trail has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Azle, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-20.

Chisholm Trail strolled past Azle when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 45-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chisholm Trail since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
