Soccer Game Preview: Metamora vs. Richwoods

The Metamora Redbirds will venture away from home to take on the Richwoods Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Metamora has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Metamora fell victim to Washington and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Richwoods entered their tilt with Alleman on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Pioneers get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Richwoods' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Maddie McCarthy, who's now up to two this season.

Richwoods' win bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Metamora, they now have a losing record of 2-3-1.

Metamora might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Richwoods in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Redbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
