Mount Airy won the last time they faced East Wilkes and things went their way on Thursday too. The Granite Bears came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Granite Bears.

Mount Airy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Makenzie Wall and Katherine Bowman, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Addison Mathies and her 21 assists. Kallie Hutchens controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Mount Airy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for East Wilkes, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Airy will venture away from home to square off against South Stokes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Wilkes, they will head out to take on East Surry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
