Softball Recap: North RedHawks vs. Winfield Vikings
North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Winfield Vikings. The RedHawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Ana Amador put in work no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and eight unearned) runs off ten hits. Amador was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lily Graham was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Saige Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
North's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Winfield, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Vikings beat North by a score of 24-12 later that day.
