Basketball Game Preview: Calhoun Red Devils vs. Braxton County Eagles

Calhoun is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Braxton County a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Calhoun Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Braxton County Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Calhoun has given up an average of 65.9 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Calhoun is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Roane County on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Red Devils had to suffer through a 76-22 loss at the hands of the Raiders. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.

Meanwhile, Braxton County came up short against Webster County on Tuesday and fell 44-33.

Braxton County's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Calhoun, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Calhoun didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Braxton County in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, but they still walked away with a 36-30 victory.
