Football Recap: Red Jacket Comes Up Short

Red Jacket played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 36-12 to the Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles. Red Jacket was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 22-0.

Clyde-Savannah got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Garrett Carr out in front who picked up 197 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 52 yards and one touchdown. Carr's longest reception was for an incredible 95 yards. Another signal caller making a difference was John Whitfield, who threw for 292 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes.

Red Jacket's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Clyde-Savannah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Red Jacket is taking a road trip to challenge Lyons/Sodus on Friday. As for Clyde-Savannah, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mynderse Academy at 7:00 p.m. This will be the Golden Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
