Softball Recap: Ellington Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Ellington won the last time they faced East Windsor and things went their way on Monday too. The Knights' pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers an 18-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Tyla Gambacorta was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Taylor Havener was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexis Flori, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs.

Ellington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .816. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

The victory made it two in a row for Ellington and bumps their season record up to 9-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for East Windsor, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
