Cypress Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They won by a set and slipped past Fort Bend Christian Academy 3-2.
Cypress Christian was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (104-99), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 16-25, 25-22, 18-25, 15-9.

Cypress Christian can attribute much of their success to LILAH JOHNSON, who had 17 assists and four digs. That's the most assists JOHNSON has posted since back in October. CONLEY MARTIN also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Lutheran South Academy got the win against St. Joseph on Saturday by a conclusive 3-0.
The final score came out to 25-3, 25-19, 25-13.
Cypress Christian better focus on containing Eli Wittman and Charlie Marsico as the pair were huge in Lutheran South Academy's win. Wittman had 12 digs and three aces, while Marsico had 11 digs and five assists. Marsico is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Lutheran South Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive contests.
Cypress Christian's record is now 24-13-1. As for Lutheran South Academy, their record now sits at 30-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Cypress Christian has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Lutheran South Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
