Baseball Recap: Laguardia's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Laguardia had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Environmental Eagles as they made off with a 14-2 win. That's two games straight that Laguardia has won by exactly 12 runs.

AUGUST HOLDEN RICHARDS was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Laguardia let RIKI EKUNI and GABE GOODMAN run wild. EKUNI went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while GOODMAN went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. GOODMAN is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. JOHN ZIGA also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Laguardia pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Environmental, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laguardia will welcome Art & Design at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Environmental, they will host Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
