Football Recap: Ennis Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Ennis faced off against Midlothian Heritage on Friday. The Lions took a blow against the Jaguars, falling 56-21. The Lions have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Although Ennis took the loss, they still got scores from WENDERIUS JONES and TRAVEON STEWARD.

Dax Montelongo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Midlothian Heritage, rushing for 214 yards and five TDs on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Montelongo really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run. Za'Ko Davis was another key player, gaining 123 total yards and two touchdowns.

Ennis now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Midlothian Heritage, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ennis and Midlothian Heritage will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time Ennis sees the field they'll take on Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th. As for Midlothian Heritage, their break will end when they face Terrell at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th.
