Football Game Preview: Olympus Titans vs. Cyprus Pirates + Official Tickets

The Olympus Titans will challenge the Cyprus Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cyprus took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Olympus, who comes in off a win.

Olympus gave up the first points last Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over Bountiful. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Titans considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Olympus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adam Bywater and Tommy Olson. Olson also made six total tackles, which is notable because Olympus is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 3-4 otherwise. The Titans got some further help from Mark Petersen: he picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Cyprus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 69-6 loss at the hands of West. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Panthers are ranked 15th).

The win got Olympus back to even at 5-5. As for Cyprus, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Everything came up roses for Olympus against Cyprus in their previous meeting back in September of 2016, as the team secured a 49-0 victory. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
