Volleyball Recap: Kendrick Takes a Loss

The Kendrick Cherokees didn't have quite enough to beat the Miller Grove Wolverines on Thursday and fell 2-1. While the Cherokees didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolverines 25-15 in the first set.

Kendrick started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-19, 15-8.

Miller Grove can attribute much of their success to Payton Black, who had six blocks, five kills, and three aces. Black is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Kendrick's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Miller Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Coming up, Kendrick will head out to face off against Howard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Miller Grove, they are taking a road trip to square off against Carver at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
