Clovis West's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Clovis Cougars 3-1. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Andrew Griffin looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Clovis West saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolin Santillan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
