Recap: Wilson Warriors vs. West Morgan Rebels
The Wilson Warriors fell victim to the West Morgan Rebels''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 62-0 loss at the hands of the Rebels. Wilson's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.
Jalen Fletcher got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 75 receiving yards. Fletcher hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for five straight games. Ti'Airrius Mosley also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards.
Wilson's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely West Morgan, Deshler, and Central. As for West Morgan, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson will square off against Lawrence County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Morgan, they will head out on the road to face off against Haleyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Haleyville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 159th, while West Morgan is ranked 50th).
