Softball Recap: Bald Eagle Area Extends Home Winning Streak to 11

Bald Eagle Area came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Central Dragons as they made off with a 7-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Sierra Albright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Alexa Baney and Taylor Habovick did most of the damage at the plate: Baney went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Habovick went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Baney a new career-high. Macey Guenot also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Bald Eagle Area hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive games.

Bald Eagle Area pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
