Hononegah proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Belvidere Bucs. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Bucs: they've now won seven in a row.

Kaelyn Kelly was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

Hononegah hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.

Hononegah pushed their record up to 25-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Belvidere, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hononegah beat the Bucs by a score of 18-0 later that day.
