Softball Recap: Wasilla Warriors vs. West Valley Wolf Pack
Wasilla lost against West Valley on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Warriors lost 13-5 to the Wolf Pack. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly eight runs.
Deirdre Ferguson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Maylee Metcalf also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Wasilla has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10-1 record this season. As for West Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wasilla will square off against rival Juneau-Douglas at 3:45 p.m. on the 16th. Meanwhile, West Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Lathrop at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
