Baseball Recap: Bristol's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bristol can now relate to. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McDonald Blue Devils on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

Bristol saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Berry, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Croc Thorp, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

The loss snapped Bristol's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-10 record. As for McDonald, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Bristol does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McDonald, they will challenge Maplewood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
