Basketball Recap: Omaha Christian Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Walthill

Omaha Christian Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. 2025 welcomed they with a 63-37 loss courtesy of the Walthill Blujays. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Blujays from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Megan Johnston, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Wheelock, who had eight points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Omaha Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Walthill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khirstin Wolfe led the charge by going 8 of 13 on her way to 18 points and three steals. Wolfe is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tangela Randol, who posted 12 points along with four steals and three blocks.

Omaha Christian Academy is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. As for Walthill, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Omaha Christian Academy will face off against Heartland Christian on Thursday. As for Walthill, they will challenge Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Randolph has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with nine straight defeats, while Walthill will come in with three straight victories.
