Basketball Recap: SkyView Academy Takes a Loss

SkyView Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 47-38 to the Liberty Common Eagles.

When it comes to explaining why SkyView Academy lost, don't look at Reagan Martin. Despite the final result, she went 6-for-9 en route to 17 points along with eight boards and four steals. That's the most steals Martin has posted since back in December of 2024. Ellie McLaughlin was another key player, putting up four points.

Liberty Common found their leader in sophomore Miriam Huffsmith, who had 15 points. Another player making a difference was Natalee Fritzler, who scored ten points.

SkyView Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Liberty Common, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11.

SkyView Academy has already played their next match, a 66-19 win against Clear Creek on the 18th. As for Liberty Common, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-39 loss against Platte Valley on the 18th.
