Soccer Game Preview: Ferndale vs. Burlington-Edison

Ferndale hasn't had much luck against Burlington-Edison recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will face off against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Ferndale's last six matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Ferndale is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Neither they nor Oak Harbor could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw. While a more conclusive result would've been nice, Ferndale got plenty of practice considering the match was the highest-scoring draw the team's played all season.

Meanwhile, Burlington-Edison kept a clean sheet against Mt. Baker on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Mountaineers 1-0. Burlington-Edison haven't had any issues with Mt. Baker recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Burlington-Edison's victory bumped their record up to 2-3-2. Ferndale's draw makes their record 1-2-4 this season.

Ferndale came up short against Burlington-Edison in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
