Basketball Recap: Morgan Park Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Morgan Park Academy had lost three straight headed into Wednesday's match, but Tyee Mason didn't let it get to four. The Morgan Park Academy Warriors took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 70-39 victory over the Waldorf Thunder thanks in part to Mason, who went 11 for 15 on his way to 27 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Morgan Park Academy's points.

Another player making a difference was Ade Denton-Vance, who posted seven points and six rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played.

Morgan Park Academy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Waldorf, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morgan Park Academy will face off against Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Morgan Park Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Waldorf has already played their next matchup (against Beacon Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
