Basketball Recap: Heuvelton Central Takes a Loss

Heuvelton Central's game on Thursday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 60-39 to the Harrisville Pirates. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Joe Shepherd was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points for Harrisville. That makes it five consecutive games in which Shepherd has scored at least a third of Harrisville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Chartrand, who posted 14 points.

Heuvelton Central dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Harrisville, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Heuvelton Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Massena at 7:15 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Harrisville, they will square off against Northern Adirondack at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Harrisville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
