Two-weekend even to feature No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown, four national POY candidates.
The Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament tips off this weekend in Florida with five of the top 10 teams in the nation set to compete in the event. All games are being streamed live on BallerTV, ESPN3 or ESPNU starting Thursday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. EST.
The headliner is slated for Feb. 5 on ESPNU as No. 1 Montverde Academy meets No. 2 Sunrise Christian in a rematch of a Jan. 9 meeting. Montverde won the previous showdown 58-52, propelled by a 20-9 surge in the third quarter.
Four players who made the cut in last week's MaxPreps National Player of the Year watch list will be in action.
Jalen Duren of Montverde Academy,
Kennedy Chandler of Sunrise Christian Academy,
M.J. Rice of Oak Hill Academy and
TyTy Washington of AZ Compass Prep all have opportunities to bolster their resumes.
