Softball Recap: Leetonia Comes Up Short

The Leetonia Bears lost 18-4 to the Aquinas Knights on Thursday.

Leetonia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Ellis-Russell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Payton Gray, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Leetonia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Aquinas, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Leetonia will challenge East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. East will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Aquinas, they will face off against Garfield Heights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
