Baseball Recap: John Champe Makes It Six in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for John Champe, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They never let the Rock Ridge Phoenix get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Alex Weisman's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josh Wallace, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

John Champe's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rock Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Champe will take on Freedom at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rock Ridge, they will host Handley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Phoenix are facing the Judges at the right time seeing as the Judges are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
