Simpson Academy came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Leake Academy Rebels. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 last Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Chase Adcock, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Gage Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Adcock wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Simpson Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.

Simpson Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Leake Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Simpson Academy beat Leake Academy by a score of 8-1 on Friday.
