Baseball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Elmore City-Pernell Badgers, falling 10-1. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 7-6 to the Badgers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brody Kemp was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Elmore City-Pernell, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wayne will take on rival Springer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Elmore City-Pernell is set to square off against their familiar foe Maysville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
