Football Recap: Auburn Falls Despite Big Games from Trey Boston and Chance Crissey + How To Watch

Auburn extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Riverton Hawks. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Auburn had strong showings from Chance Crissey, who rushed for 181 yards and one TD, and Trey Boston, who gained 99 total yards and three touchdowns. Crissey also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks, forcing one fumble, and making three total tackles (3.0 for loss).

As for Riverton, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Gradyn Hartlaub continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 192 yards and one TD. He has become a key player for Riverton: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise.

Auburn wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 34-21 loss against Pittsfield on the 17th. As for Riverton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 38-8 defeat against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview on the 17th.
