Football Game Preview: Wiley Panthers vs. Manzanola Bobcats

The Wiley Panthers will challenge the Manzanola Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wiley will be strutting in after a victory while Manzanola will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Wiley turned things around against Genoa-Hugo on Friday. They blew past the Pirates 48-27. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30th (when they won 60-6).

Grant Mauch had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 174 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 95 yards and one TD. He has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Wiley, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Corbyn Williams, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 32 points the game before, Manzanola was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They were beaten by Bethune 72-7.

Wiley's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Manzanola, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
