Basketball Recap: Seth Bledsoe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cornerstone Prep Academy over Georgia-Cumberland Academy

It was a proper cat-fight when Cornerstone Prep Academy took on Georgia-Cumberland Academy on Monday. The Cougars took a 70-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cornerstone Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Seth Bledsoe, who went 9-for-14 on his way to 23 points and eight boards. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Stone, who posted 15 points.

Austin Samms had another great game (as he tends to do), putting up 21 points and seven assists for Georgia-Cumberland Academy. Samms is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kaden Carter, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Cornerstone Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Georgia-Cumberland Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Cornerstone Prep Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Excel Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 68.8 points per game this season. As for Georgia-Cumberland Academy, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against CSTHEA at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
