Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Quakers vs. Kent-Meridian Royals

The Franklin Quakers will face off against the Kent-Meridian Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Franklin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 games.

Last Monday, Franklin earned a 65-53 victory over Chief Sealth. Given the Quakers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Seahawks are ranked 304th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Kent-Meridian lost to Kentlake at home by a 62-44 margin on Tuesday. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Franklin's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Kent-Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Franklin came up short against Kent-Meridian in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 64-54. Can Franklin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
