Football Game Preview: Spring Creek Spartans vs. Elko Indians + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in McCoy McArtor and Ethan Kraintz are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Spring Creek Spartans will square off against the Elko Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Creek will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Spring Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-22 win over South Tahoe. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Snowdon Bear Williams had a dynamite game, picking up 86 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made three total tackles. Colton Cunningham was in the mix as well, providing Spring Creek with one TD.

Spring Creek's run defense was locked in: South Tahoe could only muster 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Joseph Bright for the heroic effort on defense: he. Spring Creek's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 5.07 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 8.17 on average over their last five games.

Meanwhile, Elko faced Churchill County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Indians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Greenwave, sneaking past 31-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since August 23, 2024.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Elko, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Coy Jones, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Elko pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.5 points over those games. As for Spring Creek, their record now sits at 6-3.

Spring Creek might still be hurting after the 26-0 defeat they got from Elko in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
